A HOLY PURSUIT

Through the Valley.

My heart is heavy. I'm facing a variety of things that have become so mentally taxing. I truly feel like the devil is attacking me because of what could potentially be accomplished through this campaign. I hate going through these valleys. I pray for my faith to increase but then when I'm brought through the lows and I have to rely on faith, I silently negate my prayer. However, I will say I'm finding myself more dependent on Scripture. It's my source of light in darkness and it gives  me such renewed strength and hope. These verses have really encouraged me as of late."Where were you when I established the earth? Tell if you have understanding. Who fixed its dimensions? Certainly you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? What supports its foundations? Or who laid its cornerstone while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouter for joy? Who enclosed the sea behind doors when it burst from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its blanket, when I determined its boundaries and put its bars and doors in place, when I declared: You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here"? Have you ever in your life commanded the morning or assigned the dawn its place, so it may seize the edges of the earth and shake the wicked out of it?" Job 28:4-13.And it goes on and on and on for several pages. (All pages well worth reading.) I think sometimes in making my relationship with God personal, I forget how great God really is. I bring Him down to my level, talk to Him the way I would a friend and expect Him to act as another human would. But these verses display the great architect He is. They reduce me down to my ant-sized level and lift Him up to be the God that deserves all glory and honor and praise. This reminder -- that He measured the earth and that He supports it's foundation and that He commands the morning -- gives me hope in my moments of despair. He is an all powerful God that uses my valleys for His glory. He clearly put great thought and care when He created the earth and that translates into His plan for each of our lives. And there is great beauty in that even when walking through the valley.
