Going from primitive camping the day before to an RV resort with full water, electricity and sewage hookups the very next day was quite the change. I have never experienced such heat in my life. After a good 4-5 hours of driving, we found ourselves in 110 degree weather with wind that felt like a hot, hot, hot blow-dryer was blowing on us at all times. It was pretty much unbearable unless we were in the water. Our fifth wheel was parked right off the cool, crisp Colorado river and I wouldn't have had it any other way. If there wasn't water around I think you would find us melted into puddles. This was a perfect excuse to let the kids live in diapers and swimsuits. We made sure to lather up in a lot of sunscreen and drink LOTS of water. We decided to stay two nights there so that we could just enjoy our time together as a family and take a break from the road. The extra time allowed us to finally get into our groove with the fifth wheel. We are now faster at setting things up and taking things down. For those of you who don't know, this kind of camping requires a lot of prep work and our fifth wheel was extremely unorganized since we had packed it with all the stuff we would need for the next month. It was a little too bright for her. We made sure to keep her in the shade for the majority of the day so that her little skin wouldn't get toasted.Kaiden loved kayaking. The only problem is his favorite part would be his attempts to flip it so he would get dunked in the water. To avoid the sun but still stay cool, Ethan came up with the brilliant idea of bringing her bathtub out to the beach. We let the lake water sit in the sun making it the perfect temp for her. There's nothing more attractive than watching my shirtless husband bond with his son haha.I got her Children's Place swimsuit for fifty cents at a thrift shop before we left. It looked like it had never been worn!Kaiden LOVED playing with Oakley the entire time.We had  quesadillas for dinner. YUM!Once the sun set, Kaiden was passed out and it gave Ethan and I an opportunity to finally sit on the beach together without having to worry about the kiddos. What our view looked like right outside our fifth wheel.Whenever Kaiden wants to hold Skye he says, "Try, try!" We let him try and of course, I snapped pics in the process.Kaiden has been showing huge signs that he is ready to potty train. We made him go diaperless under his boardshorts and brought the potty to the beach. Each RV spot had a beach next to it's peninsula and for both days we had it to ourselves!
