An Unexpected Curveball.

Yesterday, life threw me a curveball. The unexpected happened and for the first time, my mind caught wind of a connection that typically fast-tracks into overdrive. As the bad news filtered through my head, I consciously recognized that I had the choice to 1) get upset and stressed over the situation or 2) choose to work with the situation and let it be what it is. You see, when it comes to my life, I am a very hands on person. I like to be in control. As much as I wish I could be a free spirit and go with the flow, it's simply not me. So when something comes up that I didn't plan for (because there is a difference when you can plan for a problem lol), I typically get overwhelmed and emotional. This time I chose option 2: work with the situation and let it be what it is. But I can't even take the credit and say that I made that decision. Rather, the knowledge of God's promises and past provisions kept me at peace and anchored me in what I know to be true about Him. about this present life. about these present circumstances. I can confidently stand in the face of this curveball and know there is no gain in worry...and to be completely honest, for a girl that has spent most her life holding the reins, it's the most freeing feeling ever."Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had it's foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mind does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." Matthew 7:24-27Taken from a famous hymn... On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
