We took Skye's first pictures when she was 5 days old. You are supposed to take newborn pictures within the first week since they sleep all the time and aren't as squirmy. We fed her, turned off the AC so that the house would warm up and placed a heating pad underneath the faux fur rug we used. I remember attempting similar pictures with Kaiden when he was only a few days old but they were a total flop as he was trying to lift his head and roll over.  She, however, cooperated wonderfully! It's amazing how much her face has changed since taking these pictures. She grows in beauty every single day. :)I made the banner from this Pinterest DIY. I found fabric that was on clearance for only $1-2/yard. I bought a half yard of six different patterns/colors/textures, cut strips and tied them to some twine I had. It only took me about an hour to make, cost me less than $10 and I can definitely resuse it for future photo shoots and parties.
